NetApp has appointed Steve Dixon to head its Asia Pacific and Japan (APJ) region as senior vice president and general manager.
Channel Asia can reveal that Dixon will be responsible for driving customer and partner success across APJ, increasing market share and revenue for the vendor while leveraging its channel ecosystem.
“NetApp rises to the needs and challenges demanded by our customers and the industry as a whole,” wrote Dixon, via social media.
Dixon said data is now recognised as the “most critical and valuable asset” in the world, placing new demands on data management experts to deliver innovation in “shorter timeframes, at less cost”.
“The fact that NetApp has done this, and indeed gone way beyond, delivering a range of solutions and levels of flexibility is truly inspiring and a testament to the visionaries who defined the path for NetApp to become the foremost leader of data management in the hybrid enterprise for the foreseeable future,” Dixon added.
“I am incredibly excited to be able to work with such an amazing team, in such an amazing company and to be able to contribute to the success of our customers and partners through product excellence, innovation and a total commitment to exemplary support.”
Dixon has resided in Singapore since 2010, having moved from Australia to lead Riverbed Technology’s regional strategy, before leaving in 2015 to join data protection vendor Rubrik.
In the market, Dixon's most recent position was as director of sales for Savvius, alongside also serving as managing director of both Kinetica and Cabletron Systems in Australia.
