IT services company Wipro has launched a new platform aimed at simplifying customer migrations to Oracle Cloud.
The quick migration to cloud (QuMiC) platform has been designed to migrate all aspects required for a cloud implementation, spanning process definitions, configurations, data, and code to Oracle Cloud for a wide variety of software environments.
“Wipro’s QuMiC demonstrates our expertise with Oracle Cloud and is an example of our continued investments in Oracle Cloud development,” said Ravi Purohit, vice president and global head of Oracle Service Line, Modern Application Services, Wipro Limited.
“Extending the use of Wipro’s ‘Cloud Studio’, QuMiC complements the Oracle Cloud and will help customers significantly simplify, accelerate, and improve the time to value from their cloud implementations."
The QuMiC platform has been designed to both automate and thus accelerate the migration process to the cloud irrespective of whether the assets are on-premise or not, for instance, Oracle’s E-Business Suite.
Furthermore, the platform reduces the risk of manual errors and ensures a secure migration to Oracle Cloud.
“Wipro’s innovative QuMiC platform helps organisations move cost-effectively to Oracle Cloud with greater speed and reliability,” added Camillo Speroni, vice president of Worldwide Strategic Alliances at Oracle.
“The combination of QuMiC’s automated capabilities and ease-of-use ensures organisations seeking to accelerate their Oracle Cloud migration are successful in their transformation.
“Once on the Oracle Cloud, customers can continue to work with Wipro to seek competitive advantage enabled by the innovation Oracle brings on a 90-days cycle."
QuMiC aims to reduce the number of resources needed for deployment through the implementation of automation as well as having pre-built integrations with Oracle ERP systems.
Wipro, a platinum level member of Oracle’s partner network, believes that enterprises can expect to save nearly 30 per cent in overall cloud implementation costs and time by leveraging their platform.
The time taken, claims the platinum partner, to design ERP processes, analyse and set-up the configurations for each environment during the migration process i.e., testing, production and development will be reduced by up to 60 per cent.
As such, leveraging the platform, Wipro is able to quickly define end state business processes, download, add, modify, and upload configurations to the Oracle Cloud environments for its clients at the click of a button.
In 2018, Wipro entered into a long-term partnership with Ensono, which saw Wipro hosted data centre services business acquired for US$450 million across Singapore, US and European markets.
As a long-term partnership, both companies aim to address the hybrid IT requirements of Wipro’s new and existing enterprise clients, with Wipro joining Ensono’s board of directors and make a strategic investment of $55 million in Ensono.
