Data centre provider Equinix has appointed Yee May Leong to lead its South Asia region, as managing director.
Based in Singapore, Yee will head the provider’s business strategy across Singapore and Indonesia, reporting directly to Samuel Lee, president of Equinix Asia Pacific.
“South Asia is experiencing a new growth frontier and it is an exciting time for me to come onboard Equinix to be part of this development to further opportunities and growth for the company,” said Yee May Leong, managing director of Equinix South Asia.
“I look forward to working closely with the teams to further Equinix’s legacy as a front-runner and delivering against customer needs in South Asia."
Yee joins the data centre provider with over 30 years experience in the ICT sector, holding senior positions at IBM, Lotus, F5 Networks and Orange Business Services, where she was responsible for business transformation and growing market share across Asia Pacific.
At IBM, she most recently held the position of vice president of the communications sector for APAC, responsible for overseeing the vendor’s strategic business development in ASEAN, Australia, India, Korea and New Zealand.
During eight years at Orange Business Services, Yee grew the firm’s sales volume and revenues across APAC and while at F5 Networks, she led the firm’s expansion efforts into Greater China and ASEAN.

"As we continue to invest and expand our footprint in South Asia, with the opening of our fourth International Business Exchange data centre - SG4 - in Singapore in Q4 2019 in particular, I am certain Yee May is the right leader to lead our business in South Asia to success."
