Channel Asia launches Innovation Awards

Awards will honour outstanding work across customer value and innovation

Channel Asia is proud to announce the launch of the inaugural Innovation Awards in 2019, designed to recognise excellence across the ASEAN channel.

Reflective of IDG’s increasing commitment to the region, the Awards will honour outstanding work across customer value and innovation, spanning reseller partners, vendors, distributors and individuals.

Specifically, the Awards will celebrate the channel across eight categories - Partner Value; Emerging Tech; Vendor Value; Distributor Value; Personal Innovation; Channel Choice; 30 Under 30 and Hall of Fame.

All Awards will be judged through the lens of value -

  • How are partners adding value to customers?
  • How are vendors adding value to partners?
  • How are distributors adding value to the channel?

Under the theme of ‘All Eyes On You’, the celebration dinner will be held in Singapore in November, with final details to follow shortly. Nominations will open on Thursday 8 August, running for four weeks until Thursday 5 September.

The Awards will be assessed by a hand-picked judging panel, comprising of the leading executives at partner, vendor and distributor level across ASEAN.

The launch follows the success of the Innovation Awards in Australia and New Zealand, which were unveiled to the market in 2007 and 2015 respectively.

In both countries, the Awards have become the industry standard for recognising channel excellence, attracting over 700 channel leaders to the celebration dinner in Sydney, and more than 400 in Auckland.

Partners

In acknowledging the importance of partners across ASEAN, both Partner Value and Emerging Tech categories are open exclusively to partners, spanning value-added resellers, managed service providers and system integrators, in addition to born-in-the-cloud players, start-ups and independent software vendors (ISVs).

Specifically, Partner Value will recognise excellence across Enterprise; Mid-Market and SMB, while Emerging Tech will acknowledge the channel within the segments of Cloud; Security; Digital Transformation and Smart Technology (i.e. artificial intelligence, machine learning and the Internet of Things).

Nominations for these awards should demonstrate how a partner has delivered business outcomes through thinking ahead of the curve and delivering cutting-edge solutions, that go beyond traditional IT deployments.

All winners and finalists will be announced and promoted via Channel Asia media platforms, providing the opportunity to shine a spotlight on your skill-sets and specialist expertise across the wider technology industry.

Furthermore, all winners and finalists will receive post-awards collateral which includes awards logos and email signatures, in recognition of your achievement.

Your submission will be judged by an esteemed panel of leading figures within the industry, providing the opportunity to tell your story to the influencers of the ASEAN technology scene.

Innovation

Meanwhile, Vendor Value awards recognise vendors helping partners deliver innovative solutions to customers, through leading-edge technology and channel-centric programs.

Vendors will be honoured across Hardware; Software; Cloud; Telecommunications, Specialist and Security categories.

Furthermore, Distributor Value awards recognise distributors innovating through the supply chain, providing value to vendors and partners across the channel, spanning Hardware; Software; Cloud and Specialist categories.

The Personal Innovation awards honour individuals who contribute to their company’s success, open to leaders from with partner, vendor and distributor organisations.

Within this award, categories include Sales Excellence (partners only); Marketing Excellence; Management Excellence; Technical Excellence and Channel Excellence (vendors and distributors only).

In addition, Channel Choice is Channel Asia’s online-only people’s choice awards, allowing readers the chance to choose their favourite vendor, distributor or partner over the past 12 months.

Also launching is 30 Under 30, designed to showcase the brightest young technology minds across ASEAN. Whether already in positions of leadership, or starting out down the career path, these awards aim to champion the next generation of talent coming up through the ranks.

Individuals will be recognised for outstanding achievements across six categories, spanning management; entrepreneur; sales; marketing; technical and human resources.

Finally, Hall of Fame will recognise the outstanding individuals that have demonstrated a long-term commitment to the ASEAN channel, and will be determined by the industry judging panel.
