Logicalis has officially launched new headquarters in Malaysia amid plans to drive adoption of digital technologies across the country.

Headquartered at Sunway Velocity in Kuala Lumpur, the opening was officiated by Hew Wee Choong, vice president of Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation, who cited the expanding potential of digital transformation in Malaysia.

Hew urged local organisations to “future proof” their businesses while developing new revenue streams as technology investments increase nationwide.

“Businesses must be immersed with latest technologies to ensure their business models are future-proof and able to take on seismic shifts,” Hew said.

Echoing Hew’s observations, Bernard Chiang - managing director of Logicalis Malaysia - encouraged customers to “realise technology as a business enabler”.

“In essence, business and technology should work as one,” Chiang added.

Supporting Chiang’s stance is new data from IDC, which reports that over 21 per cent of Malaysia’s GDP will be digitalised by 2022, with the digital economy central to its journey towards becoming a high-income nation.

“Logicalis works with both IT and line of business owners to create tangible and transformative digital outcomes that improve productivity and operational efficiencies,” said Lee Chong-Win, CEO of Logicalis Asia.

Lee said that from a strategy perspective, Logicialis is focused on four key areas in Malaysia, starting with hybrid IT comprising of cloud, data centre, application modernisation and cyber security.

In addition, digital workplace - spanning communications, collaboration, mobility and IT service management - and digital ready infrastructure through networking and software-defined solutions are priorities, backed up be advisory and managed services.

“Logicalis believes that digital transformation is about leveraging technology to enable new business models, deliver a better customer experience, enhance collaboration and improve efficiencies,” Lee added.

Alongside new headquarters, Logicalis has also continued to invest in Malaysia’s ICT industry, following the establishment of a Global Support Centre in Cyberjaya in 2006, which provides managed services to customers across the world.
