Snowflake has appointed Geoff Soon as managing director of South Asia, recruiting the industry executive from Cloudera.
Effective immediately, Soon is responsible for establishing the vendor’s go-to-market strategy across the region, in addition to increasing customer adoption in specific verticals.
“Geoff is a significant addition to the Snowflake team,” said Peter O’Connor, vice president of sales across Asia Pacific at Snowflake. “He brings a combination of deep software sales knowledge, strategic thinking and the proven ability to manage teams and growth across different verticals.
“We are looking forward to working with Geoff and are excited to have him on board to help Snowflake navigate through this rapid growth phase in South Asia.”
With more than 20 years market experience across Asia and Australia, Soon most recently lead the ASEAN business for Cloudera, halving joined the vendor in November 2016. Prior to this, Soon spent five years at Cisco, helping expand the data centre software business across Asia Pacific.
