Key appointment as Actifio eyes regional expansion

Enterprise data-as-a-service (DaaS) software vendor has appointed Christopher Ho as senior director of Actifio’s North Asia and Singapore operations.
The appointment comes as the vendor sees significant growth opportunities across the region with an increasing number of organisations turning to digital transformation to stay competitive and increased profit margins, productivity, customer advocacy, revenue from new products & services and more cost reductions.
Not only are these benefits expected to improve by approximately 50 per cent by 2021 but that 60 per cent of Asia Pacific’s GDP are expected to be derived from digital products or services according to IDC.

Ho brings 22 years of IT industry experience to his new role with a record of driving sales growth in the ASEAN and Greater China regions.
Furthermore, Ho served as general manager (Greater China) of software vendors Embarcadero and Serena Software as well as a sales leader with Singapore Computer Systems, Infonet Systems and Services and Compaq, which was acquired by Hewlett Packard.
In August, Actifio announced a strategic alliance with Singapore-based ACA Pacific, providing customers with its suite of cloud-focused data migration and management solutions to support their evolving IT infrastructures.
Actifio further offers enablement for regional managed service providers (MSP) in a bid to aid to in reducing costs, increase revenue and adapt their services for clients hybrid IT environments (on-premises, private/hosted cloud and public cloud).
To accomplish this, the vendor works with MSPs to provide a single data management platform to flatten the cost curve by delivering multiple data services, eliminating point tools and siloed architectures, and reducing infrastructure and operational costs.
Furthermore, sales and technical pre-sales training are provider by the vendor to quickly identify the right prospects, environments and pain points.
Operational training on the new data management platform is also provided that covers key architectural concepts, and hands-on training on deployment, monitoring, system administration, troubleshooting, support and best-practices.
